So as promised in my previous blog and on my twitter page I will continue to give some of my very own tips and tricks of battling the summer makeup blues. Today I feel the need to focus more oily skin and makeup. I personally don't have only skin, probably dry/normal and combination in the summer months.(I find that women in the tropics (hotter climates) misdiagnose themselves with the wrong skin type, due to the fact that we live in a warmer, hotter climate. (As my blog, is new i'll probally have a blog on how-to find your skin type another time).
Summer Loving Makeup Tips For Oily Skin.
Oily skin is generally characterized by having large pores, roughness and greasy appearance, this is because the sebaceous glands excrete an excess of oil known as sebum, which causes the face to look shiny. Persons with oily skin tend to have a difficult time during summer in keeping their makeup perfect or close to perfect.
1. Cleanse the face at least twice daily with an oil control facial cleanser to prevent dirt accumulation in pores and to the pores clean.
2. Use an oil free astringent to remove excess oil.
3. Moisturize with an oil free moisturizer, that contains a sun protectant factor (spf) of 15 or higher to keep skin from over drying.
4. Use a face primer (silicone free) before applying foundation
5. Apply a foundation that is oil free
6. Apply an eye shadow primer before eyeshadow application
7. Apply lip gloss and blush
8. Set foundation with lose powder.
9. Through out the day pat your face with oil absorbing sheets or blotting paper, to remove oil without ruining your makeup.
- ****Management of Oily Skin and The Prevention of Breakouts Requires A Healthy Diet and Regular Skincare Routine***
*****Avoid Products That Contain Oil or Alcohol**** as these will make your skin produce even more oils.
*****Too Much Oil Mixed With Makeup and Dirt Can Clog The Pores and Contribute To The Development of Blackheads and Pimples.
